South Dakota voters will have a number of ballot issues to decide in November. Among them is Amendment “R”.
That amendment would set up a state governance structure for the four tech schools.

Kolberg-Pioneer Manufacturing President Jeff May spoke to the Yankton School Board Monday night about the issue. He says they are having a difficult time filling a number of jobs……

May says tech schools are handicapped due to the lack of an overall management structure…..

Currently the four tech schools, in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Watertown and Mitchell, are managed by their local school boards.

May asked the school board to support the passage of Amendment “R”…………

The school board approved a resolution of support for the amendment on a five to zero vote.
