University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Dr. Pankaj Singh recently had a paper published in this month’s journal Cancer Cell that is well known in the medical community for cancer research.  The paper focused on pancreatic cancer that strikes more than 53,000 people in the U.S. each year and the survival rate low.  One problem with treatment is the cancer cells develop resistance.  Singh says the study focused on combining other therapeutic treatments to decrease resistance.

Singh says its important to develop better treatment options.

Singh says resistance to therapies is a problem but a study shows that combining other therapeutic treatments helps decrease that resistance.  Dr. Singh’s study soon will be tested in patients who enroll into clinical trials at UNMC.
