USDA reports a significant jump in ethanol exports to China this year. Growth Energy Co-Chair and Acting CEO Tom Buis says that’s been a goal for his group and other U.S. ethanol organizations. Ethanol exports to China have jumped from $8 million to more than $86 million since May of 2014.
He says the ethanol industry has participated in several trade trips, to China and other countries, which have led to increased exports of the renewable fuel.
Buis says there have also been trade missions to other Far East nations including India that are looking at a cleaner greener fuel alternative.
Buis says the future for the U.S. ethanol industry is bright with increasing export potential and increased consumer demand domestically. He says there’s also been an increase in higher ethanol blends like E15 and E85.
