Trucking Act Supported by NGFA

The National Grain and Feed Association is backing Wisconsin Congressman Reid Ribble’s Safe, Flexible and Efficient Trucking Act introduced last week. NGFA’s Director of Economics and Government Relations Max Fisher says it calls for increasing truck weights and the numbers of axles. He says the measure allows states flexibility to decide how it’s implemented.

Fisher says the legislation allows for efficient shipping of grains and should help get grains out quicker to export markets.

Fisher says it likely will be offered as an amendment attached to the Transportation Bill. At this time there is no companion measure yet in the Senate.
