A truck fire has closed Highway 81 south of Yankton.
Yankton Assistant Fire Chief Larry Nickles says they were called to the scene about 4:30 this morning.

Nickles says the truck driver pulled over south of the intersection of Highway 121.

Nickles says they have the fire contained, but still have hot spots in the truck trailer.
He said they used foam on some of the fuel that was running on the highway.

Nickles says Highway 81 is closed, and will be for some time.
South bound traffic is being detoured on Highway 121, then south and east back to Highway 81. Northbound traffic is being routed on a gravel road west, then north to Highway 121.
