Sutton Hopes To Address Teacher Shortage

The first members of the “Blue Ribbon Task Force on Teachers and Students” have been appointed by South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard. The group is being assembled to look at school funding issues, and give a report to the 2016 legislature.

Among the members is Senator Billie Sutton of Burke. He says the looming teacher shortage is a critical issue…

 

Sutton says the education funding formula will be another big part of the discussion…

 

Sutton says the task force will have to look for solutions that fit…

 

The Governor says more members from the public will be appointed to the task force as it begins public hearings later this year.
