A group of 20 Southeast Asian government and industry representatives from four countries are in Nebraska this week. They’re being hosted by the U.S. Grains Council and Nebraska Corn Board. Corn Board’s Director of Market Development Roger Berry says the Southeast Asians are seeing firsthand the full production and value chain of ethanol in Nebraska.
He says Nebraska’s farmers are in a position to supply them the ethanol feedstock they need.
Berry says the Southeast Asian delegation had a chance tour the Siouxland Ethanol plant near Jackson and then expressed interest in learning how they can incorporate those efficiencies in their own biofuel facilities.
The four countries represented on the trip include Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
