Farmers could be signing up for new farm programs by this fall and disaster assistance yet this spring.  South Dakota Senator John Thune says USDA is setting out a pretty aggressive timetable for implementation of the new farm bill.

Thune says nearly $4 million has been allocated to help with education prior to signup due to the complexity of the P-L-C and ARC programs.

USDA is expected to have signup ready to go for the Livestock Indemnity and Livestock Disaster Programs by late April or early May.
