South Dakota Democrats Talk Medicaid Expansion

While it has not been debated openly yet, South Dakota legislative democrats say Medicaid expansion is still on their agenda.
Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton of Burke says they are on the right side of the issue.

Sutton says hospitals in the state are taking the financial hits for the people that are not insured.

Governor Dennis Daugaard and legislative republicans have opposed the expansion due to the costs to the state and the concern that the federal government will not pay their share.

Sutton says there are ongoing talks about Medicaid possibilities.

Sutton made the comments during the democratic legislative briefing.
