Ann Tornberg of Beresford is the incoming chair of the South Dakota Democratic Party. She was elected by the state central committee over the weekend. Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth was also seeking the top spot.

Tornberg says they all know they have work to do.

Tornberg says she wants to rebuild their financial base from the grassroots.

Democrats hold no state wide or Congressional offices, and lost legislators in last month’s election.
Tornberg says they do have people willing to make an effort.

Tornberg says they will also be hiring more staff for their offices.
