Sorghum Association Is Holding Farm Bill Meetings

Sorghum growers can find out more about the new programs that will be part of the farm bill at meetings hosted next week in South Dakota by the National Sorghum Growers Association. CEO Tim Lust says while farmers won’t be able to sign up until this fall the programs are complex enough that farmers should start the education process now so they can make good elections for their operation.
He says the PLC and ARC programs are also quite a change from past farm bills and farmers need to know the details because they will be locked into their selections for five years.
Meetings are scheduled for June 3 at Mitchell and June 4 in Oacoma.
