Senator Doubts Amendment Will Move

Removing corn ethanol from the Renewable Fuel Standard is in an amendment to the Keystone XL Pipeline Legislation put in by California Senator Dianne Feinstein. South Dakota Senator John Thune says he doesn’t think the amendment has much of a chance in getting any traction but cautions that Senator’s need to be vigilant.
Thune says it’s critical that they educate new members of Congress on the importance of corn ethanol and the RFS.
Ethanol proponents say that if the amendment were to pass it would drive U.S. energy policy back for decades.
