South Dakota’s Congressional Delegation has been pushing the Indian Health Service to fix issues with their health care delivery, or lack of, on reservations across the state.

Senator Mike Rounds says he has his staff doing an in depth study of the current structure of the IHS……

Rounds says they need to know what is causing the failure of the IHS to deliver even basic services….

Rounds says it doesn’t look like IHS has enough people working on medical services….

The emergency room at the Rosebud Hospital has been closed since last fall due to staff shortages and other issues found during a federal audit.
