SD Medicaid Expansion Discussions Continue

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard shelved plans for expanding Medicaid during the legislative session, saying there were too many details to work through. He has mentioned the possibility of a special session to debate it.
Senator Bernie Hunhoff of Yankton, a strong supporter of expansion, says the discussions and negotiations are continuing….

Hunhoff says he would like to see a special session fairly soon….

Hunhoff says he thinks the expansion could be an economic lift for the state…..

The expansion would extend Medicaid insurance coverage to about fifty five thousand people.
