EPA administrator nominee Scott Pruitt appeared before the U.S. Senate at his confirmation hearing this week. Renewable Fuels Association Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says he was encouraged by the nominee’s response regarding support of renewable fuels and the RFS.

He says Pruitt’s response to Senators also seemed to indicate he would back the growth of the renewable fuels industry going forward.

Cooper says while Pruitt is from an oil producing state, it’s encouraging that he and the new Trump Administration seem intent on backing their campaign pledge of supporting renewable fuels.

Pruitt testified that if he is confirmed as EPA administrator he will follow the law regarding the RFS.
