Livestock groups including the American Sheep Industry Association are urging the Senate to quickly pass the Endangered Species Act Amendments of 2018. ASI Executive Director Peter Orwick says the legislation is needed because it impacts all landowners.

He says it’s important this measure get passed to correct all the bureaucratic red tape that’s caused the ESA to become a burdensome and unworkable regulation that’s not based on science.

Orwick says it’s critical that landowners be able to operate and species be protected and Barrasso’s legislation helps foster that.

Joining ASI in backing the Endangered Species Act amendments are the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Public Lands Council.
