Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and State Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw are calling on EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt to lift restrictions on E15 summer usage. The summer season Reid Vapor Pressure requirements went into effect Friday. Naig says the head of the EPA needs to follow the President’s wishes in calling for year-round usage of the fuel.

He says the EPA administrator needs to begin a formal rule making process to allow E15 use and in the mean time not enforce the RVP regulations so retailers can offer the fuel.

Naig says consumers would benefit from having E15 available this summer, especially given the recent high gasoline prices.

Naig says E15 is not only what consumers want, it also benefits both the environment and farmers.
