Plans by the Corps of Engineers to increase flows out of Missouri River reservoirs will push more water through the spillway at Gavins Point Dam. Dave Becker, Operations Manager for the Corps at Gavins Point, says those flows will continue into the fall…..

Becker says using the spillway is part of the normal operations of the dam……

Becker says work on the generators in the power house will also push more water through the spillway……

During the flood of 2011, flows peaked at more than one hundred sixty thousand cubic per second out of the spillway.
