It’s been a tough spring and summer so far in Sully County South Dakota as growers have not only seen drought but just this week frost hitting their grains. Sully County Farm Service Agency Executive Director Dawn Nagel says frost did damage to both corn and wheat crops.
She says Sully County isn’t alone in seeing drought or frost this year.
Nagel advises growers to check with their crop insurance agent and also contact their office if they have any questions or concerns.
Nagel says farmers have had a challenging time this year even dealing with tough planting conditions when there was little or no moisture to get the crop started. She says following that there was drought and now this week frost.
