Democratic activists from across the state are coming together in an effort to better prepare future candidates for election success.  South Dakota Progress is an organization designed to complement the state’s Democratic Party, says Tasi Livermont, chair of the South Dakota Progress Steering committee…

Livermont says the group’s goal is to prepare candidates at the very local level first…

She says the organization essentially privatizes campaign funding and education to increase democrats’ chances in future elections…

The first South Dakota Progress meeting included long-time members of the Democratic Party, local LGBT community, and tribal members.

The next meeting is December 6 in Rapid City.
