The “Blue Ribbon Task Force on Teachers and Students” has started its round of public meetings across the state. A number of legislators have been critical of requests for them to just be observers of the process, and not speak up at the meetings.

Governor Dennis Daugaard, who set up the task force, says this part of the process is not focused on legislators…

Daugaard says they want more interested people to be heard at the task force meetings…

Daugaard says legislators will have plenty of time to weigh in on the task force findings…

The Governor says more members will soon be added to the task force when they wrap up the first round of public meetings. The results of the task force will be given to the 2016 legislature.

The Governor was a guest on Drivetime with Fred Forman and Tom Riter yesterday afternoon on 570 WNAX.
