Attorneys for Nebraska landowners opposing the proposed route of the Keystone XL Oil pipeline have filed their closing arguments with the State Public Service Commission. Landowner’s attorney Brian Jorde says Trans Canada didn’t meet the burden of proof of showing the pipeline project is in the best interest of the state.
He says one of their main concerns with the proposed pipeline is its negative impact on landowner’s private property rights.
Jorde says they don’t expect a final decision from the PSC until late November.
Jorde expects whichever side doesn’t receive a favorable ruling from the PSC will appeal it to court.
