Charges Filed in EB5 Case; SD Senator Mike Rounds Says More Federal Oversight Needed

Felony charges have been filed against Joop Bolen of Aberdeen in connection with the EB-5 visa program.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced the charges yesterday.
Bolen ran SDRC Incorporated, a regional center that handled the states EB-5 program that offered resident visa’s in exchange for foreign investment dollars.

The program began under former Governor, now Senator Mike Rounds…….

Rounds says the EB-5 program helped with development at a difficult time….

Rounds says there were assumptions made about the oversight of federal programs….

Bollen turned himself in to authorities and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday.
