Cattle President Concerned At More Overregulation

EPA has published a study that concludes many wetlands, prairie potholes and other isolated water bodies could have a negative impact on downstream waters. The study could possibly lay the groundwork for greater regulation of isolated waters. South Dakota Cattlemen Association President Todd Wilkinson says that’s a concern considering EPA continues to push its Waters of the U.S. rule which if combined with this would be even more expansion of regulatory control.
Wilkinson says his group intends to stay on top of this issue and will weigh in with elected officials on their concerns about EPA and its push for more power.
Wilkinson says agencies under the Obama administration have taken the stance that if they can’t get legislation enacted, then they’ll regulate. He says his group will fight them every step of the way.
