15 cattle groups including the South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association have written to President Trump wanting him to ask the Senate to confirm Sonny Perdue as Agriculture Secretary and Charles Herbster as Deputy Ag Secretary. Stock Grower’s President Bill Kluck says Herbster has a great background as a cattle producer and understands the industry very well.
He says Herbster also shares their concerns on trade and the need for Country of Origin Labeling.
Kluck says the cattle groups share Trump’s stance for bilateral trade deals rather than multiple pacts and that both Perdue and Herbster would follow that.
The cattle groups think that both Perdue and Herbster if confirmed will do a good job of leading American Agriculture in a new direction.
