Backers of Amendment “W” will be hosting a number of public meetings over the next couple of weeks start the push to the November election.

Doug Kronaizl with “Represent South Dakota” says the amendment attacks political corruption….

Kronaizl says the amendment is in some ways a response to the fate of IM22….

IM22, which contained several of the same proposals, was approved by the voters in 2016, but then repealed by the legislature last year.

There are a number of business groups that have announced opposition to the amendment. Kronaizl says that is not surprising…..

The first meeting is tomorrow (Tuesday) in Vermillion. This round of meetings wraps up August 16th in Mitchell.
