Big Scott Allen mornings on WNAX 6am – 9am.

Hey there! This is Big Scott Allen. And here’s a few things you might not know about me.

I got my start in radio at KORN-AM in Mitchell, South Dakota, some 31 years ago. I’ve also worked in Vermillion, Tallahassee, FL, Rapid City, Sioux Falls and now Yankton. Over the years I’ve worked with some very talented people, but I’ve never had a better crew than here at WNAX.

I grew up listening to YOUR BIG FRIEND back in the days of Dan Christopherson in the afternoon, Paul Harvey at 1pm, then again with THE REST OF THE STORY in the 5pm hour. And I remember listening to our news director, Jerry Oster, who’s still a huge part of the present morning show and throughout the day here at the station.

WNAX was like the internet before the internet was invented. My parents listened to it all day long and we’d fire it up anytime the weather got bad. Which seemed to be every other day out in Douglas County. I wish my dad were still with us, because he’d think I’d hit the big time by working here.

I went to Corsica High School, then off to USD, and then radio. During that time, I’ve picked up a sweet and beautiful wife (Lynn), a couple dogs (both named Foxy) and a wonderful son (Finn.)

I also play guitar and sing songs in the band, “TOO DRUNK TO FISH.” So if you’ve seen one of our shows, that big guy who sings Jimmy Buffett songs is me.
