GPAC Finals Set

The top two seeds (Concordia, Dakota Wesleyan) each posted wins in the semifinal round of the 2017 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Postseason Basketball Tournament, presented by Cypress Risk Management. The top-seed and second ranked Concordia Bulldogs cruised up an 88-51 win over fifth-seed Northwestern. Second-seed and ninth-ranked Dakota Wesleyan picked up an 81-57 win over sixth-seed Doane.

Both teams are guaranteed an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament held March 8-14 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, since the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (top seed Concordia) wins the postseason tournament.

Concordia and Dakota Wesleyan met twice during the GPAC Regular season with each time winning on their home court.

GPAC Championship Tuesday, presented by Cypress Risk Management, will be on Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in Seward, Nebraska, and feature the Bulldogs and Tigers.
