Children across South Dakota are receiving free dental care thanks to the Dakota Smile Mobile. If a child does not have access to adequate dental care, the program provides the care thanks to a strong partnership, according to Lauren Hanson, Executive Director of United Way and Volunteer Services of Greater Yankton.
Anyone 21 years old or younger can participate in the program. Hanson says after nine years, the Smile Mobile has made a tremendous impact on youth across the state.
Hanson says many children who come to the Smile Mobile suffer from pain due to unattended dental diseases.
The Smile Mobile will be in Yankton March 16th through the 20th in front of Beadle Elementary. Preregistration by March 6th is required to take advantage of the free service. Forms are available throughout the community, and those needing more information can call United Way of Yankton or visit Yankton united way dot org.
