Young Gains Summit Award

Junior Kerri Young (Mitchell) picked up her first Summit League Player of the Week Monday after helping the South Dakota State women’s basketball team to a season- and home-opening win.

 

In the 77-68 win over Marist Nov. 13, the 6-foot guard had an all-around game. She registered her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and a game- and team-high 11 rebounds. Young also had four assists and a steal.

 

South Dakota State continues its three-game homestand Wednesday when it hosts Arkansas at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.
