Yankton Voters Elect One Newcomer, Two Incumbents to the City Commission

The Yankton City Commission will seat one new member, and two incumbents when they reorganize next month.

Newcomer Bridget Benson, along with incumbents Dave Carda and Nathan Johnson were elected in yesterdays (Tuesday) voting.

Benson says she wasn’t sure what pushed her to the win…..

Benson says she will need to get up to speed on city issues….

Nathan Johnson says he appreciates the support…..

Johnson says he wants to continue the progress the city is seeing…..

Carda got 856 votes, Johnson got 838, Benson 821, and former Commissioner Craig Sommer finished out of the race with 691 votes. Turnout was just under sixteen percent.
