Several citizens backing a truck bypass for Yankton appeared before South Dakota Department of Transportation officials last week at the STIP hearing in Sioux Falls.

The issue has appeared again following the postponement of a major reconstruction project on Highway 50 through the center of town.

Kloucek says if there is enough public support, a bypass could be placed on the states highway plan.
