Yankton Area Progressive Growth hired a Chicago consulting firm to study the local retail market, and possible missing opportunities.
Geoff Dickinson with S.B. Friedman Development Advisors presented the survey results to the YAPG board meeting Monday.

He says for its size, Yankton has a well-developed retail sector.

Dickinson says that Yankton has done a good job of recruiting the appropriate type retailers to the market.

Dickinson says the key to future retail prospects is in growing the population.

Dickinson says the retail area has been growing about half a percent a year.

Dickinson will also give his presentation to the Yankton City Commission tonight.
