There will be lots of opportunities over the next few months to hear and talk about a proposed property tax opt out by the Yankton School District.
Superintendent Wayne Kindle addressed the issue during the “State of the Community” meeting this week…
Kindle says the school system should be a priority for any community….
Kindle says they don’t have an alternative to the funding that would come from the opt out…
The proposal would call for up to one point eight five million dollars for a four-year period. The plan would have the school board vote on the opt out in early January and set a special election for February.
