The Yankton School Board has decided to retain historic Crane-Youngworth Field as the site for football, and in the future, soccer.
A Sioux Falls consulting firm has been doing a survey of all the facilities in the district, including the football field.
At yesterday’s board meeting, Superintendent Dr Wayne Kindle gave results of a survey on the future of the field….

Kindle says that survey also indicated what area of the field was a concern to the public….

Board Member Sarah Carda says there would have been more cost and disruption to move football to the Williams Field track at the high school…..

The consultant’s report says the cost to upgrade Crane-Youngworth could be around two million dollars.
