Yankton School Board Starts Facilities Assessment Process

The Yankton School Board held a special meeting Tuesday night to hear presentations from three companies competing for a facilities condition assessment of the elementary schools in the district.

Board President Sarah Carda says they hope to pick a firm to work with fairly soon….

The proposals in the presentations ranged from new grade level elementary buildings to reconfigurations of existing schools.

Carda says a major focus will be on early learning….

Carda says they want and need the public to be involved in the process…

The plan is to do the study this summer with recommendations to the board possible this fall.
