Yankton School Board Hears from the Public on Face Masks

The Yankton School Board heard from several parents at their meeting this week asking for an end to the mandatory face mask policy. The board was also presented with a petition that backers said had over seven hundred signatures.

Board President Jill Sternquist says they have regular updates on the Covid-19 situation….

Sternquist says they do listen to the public input….

Sternquist, who is a doctor, says they have to follow the science….

The board policy would remove the face mask requirement when Covid-19 infections in the county drop to the low category. The county is still in the widespread infection status.
