Yankton School Board Gets First Look at Next Year’s Budget

Yankton School Board members got the first outlines of next fall’s budget at their meeting this week.
The projection is to spend about seventeen point eight million dollars in the general fund, six million in capital outlay, and four point four million dollars for special education.
Superintendent Dr Wayne Kindle says reaching contract terms with teachers sets the general fund…..

Despite giving raises,and adding some new teachers, Kindle says they are still working in a budget hole…

Kindle is optimistic that slow enrollment growth will continue this fall. The budget will officially be approved in July.
