The Yankton School Board has denied permission for bus pick up points for the Gayville-Volin School district in the Yankton district. Gayville-Volin had failed to submit a written request in time for action in August.
Gayville-Volin requested to use stops at Wal-Mart, Mission Hill, Sertoma Park and the transit garage.
Board President Frani Kieffer says they didn’t have a lot of information on the proposed stops…..
Kieffer says they have concerns about the safety of students at the drop off points…..
Kieffer says they are following rules set by the legislature…..
The motions to allow the stops all failed on votes of two to two.
