The Yankton School Board held a special meeting yesterday Monday and voted to dismiss classes at noon on Fridays through the end of the semester. School Board President Sarah Carda says their teachers need the extra time…

Several teachers at the meeting told the board that they are working up to ninety hours a week to prepare for in class and remote learning.
Carda says the early outs will help keep students in class as long as possible…

Carda says the district will still have many more hours of instruction than required under state standards…

The new schedule takes effect on October 9th.
