The Yankton School Board voted this week to add another elementary school counselor. There are currently three counselors that serve the four elementary schools.

Webster School Principal Melanie Ryken says they see the need among their students…..

Ryken says kids have issues that extend beyond school hours…..

Board Member Terry Crandall says the district needs to be pro-active for students and their families…..

The counselor will be added for the start of school this fall.
