The Yankton School Board this week approved the use of a room at Lincoln School as a community food bank.
Allison Struck with “Feeding South Dakota” says they plan on distributing food twice a month…..
Struck says at the end of the first year, they would like to see local volunteers take over the program……
Struck says they anticipate that interest in the food bank will grow….
The food bank will be a partner with the ongoing sack pack program that offers weekend food supplies.
