The city of Yankton has been approved for a $500,000 grant from the State Board of Economic Development for a new road.  The infrastructure Improvement Program Grant will be used to construct an industrial road used by Wilson Trailer and other potential business developments on the north side of Yankton.  City manager, Amy Nelson, says the grant is just what the city needed…

Nelson says the funding was achieved through the work of several entities, all with stakes in Yankton’s economic development…

She says construction on the road has already begun with surveying and design work.  The city hopes to open project bidding this winter and have the road built when construction season begins in 2015.
