The City of Yankton will get a four hundred thousand dollar grant from the state Department of Transportation to help build another stretch of trail on the northwest side of town.

City Manager Amy Nelson says they made the request last June…

The new segment will go along west 31st Street from Broadway to Adkins Drive, near Wal Mart and the Fox Run golf course.

Nelson says they hope to be able to build more segments in the future…

Nelson says they had a very good application for the grant…

The total estimated cost for the project is just over six hundred twenty thousand dollars. Nelson says construction will probably take place in the spring of 216.
