While a number of police departments across the country are moving to personal video cameras on police officers, there isn’t much of a push yet in South Dakota.
Yankton City Manager Amy Nelson says she hasn’t had a request from city police……
Nelson says there is significant technology involved with personal cameras…..
Nelson says there are some ethical and legal questions with the cameras too…..
Video from the cameras is downloaded when the officer returns to the station, and kept on servers for a certain time. Each department has its own rules for retaining and public release of that video.
