A new group called “Onward Yankton” has been teasing what they have been calling a new initiative for the community. That was launched at an all class assembly at Yankton High School this morning (Wednesday).

The announcement also included a ten thousand dollar prize for the next big idea, and they want that figured out in the next one hundred days.

Larry Ness, C.E.O. of First Dakota National Bank said it grew out of ongoing discussions they have been having.

Ness says the idea could deal with any aspect of life in Yankton.

Bernie Hunhoff is another of the organizers and says they want to hear many ideas.

Hunhoff says they hope the community can reach a consensus on the best idea.
