Five people are safe following an early morning fire that destroyed their home on east 5th Street.

Yankton Assistant Fire Chief Larry Nickles says those in the home had to go out a window….

Nickles says when firefighters arrived (at about 4AM) the house was fully on fire…

Nickles says the house presented some challenges….

Nickles says there were no injuries to those in the house or firefighters.
