Yankton County Waiting on State & Federal Resources

Estimates from the Federal Emergency Management Agency put flood related damages in Yankton County at just under twenty-one million dollars. That came from March storms and flooding.
That estimate includes the damage to Marne Creek in the City of Yankton at about eighteen million dollars.
County Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says their damages are still being adjusted….

FEMA will cover about seventy five percent of the damage costs with the state and county covering the rest. Klimisch says they are counting on state help….

Klimisch says they are just starting the budget process for next year….

Repairs to flood damaged roads are still underway.
