The Yankton County Commission is working through their budget writing for 2020 and still waiting for word of any funding to help with disaster recovery.
Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says they haven’t heard anything about the damage claim filed with the Federal Emergency Management Agency….
Damage estimates from the March storms and flooding was over twenty million dollars.
Klimisch says the wait comes at a difficult time..
Klimisch says they still want to get public input on the budget….
The commission had proposed cuts of about thirty thousand dollars which got some strong public pushback.
