Tax and fee increases passed by the Yankton County Commission will again be on the ballot.
Opponents of the property tax opt out and wheel tax increase were successful in getting enough petition signatures to put the issue up to a vote.
County Commission Chairman Todd Woods says they will continue to push the need for more money for roads and bridges….
The issue will be on the general election ballot in November.
Woods says if the tax is not approved, they will have to make some tough choices…..
The commission had passed a property tax increase of forty five cents per thousand, and expanding the wheel tax to twelve wheels per vehicle.
Woods says they have looked at all other alternatives…..
Over seven hundred signatures were gathered to put the issue on the ballot.
